Watchdogs ground Mile High Flights

Flight watchdogs have grounded an airline that offers couples the chance to join the Mile High Club - over fears distracted pilots could crash.

Mile High Flights charges lovers £640 to romp in the clouds on board its specially adapted Cessna single-engined plane, reports The Mirror.

But health and safety bosses at the Civil Aviation Authority have refused to renew its licence, saying pilots cannot keep their minds on the job.

Mike Crisp, 36, founder of Mile High Flights in Gloucestershire, said: "I'm not giving-up because of some prudish snobbery on the part of the CAA. Joining the club is something a lot of couples dream of."

The CAA said: "We cast no moral judgments on what people do in their planes, but it became apparent safety criteria couldn't be met."
