Elvis impersonators at Parkes in central New South Wales have been left feeling just a little lonesome after failing to break the world record for the highest number of Elvises in one place.
The festival needed 646 Elvis impersonators, or Elvi, to break a Las Vegas record which was set last November.
Hundreds of fans packed into Cook Park for the world record attempt; at the final count 540 men had donned their bejewelled jump suits, black plastic wigs and glasses.
More than 100 woman came as Pricilla Presley to beef up numbers taking the total to 610, almost 50 short of the number needed.
It seems those people who were not decked out in a bejewelled jumpsuit were in the minority in Parkes.
Hundreds of Presley look alikes crammed into floats, army trucks and utes for the street parade, including Hawaiian Elvis, silver and rock n' roll Elvis and Spiderman Elvis.
It seems age was no barrier either, with children as young as five donning their jumpsuits in honour of the king.
