Human Body Flowers

The human buddy: Artist's stunning pictures use nude models to provide the flower power

There is more to these colourful flower pictures than meets the eye as close inspection reveals that each intricate part is a naked human body, or at least part of one - and one day they could be worth an arm and a leg.

Artist Cecelia Webber takes photos of naked people and then spends hundreds of hours on her computer transforming them into her stunning floral creations.

Her models are carefully posed to produce the shapes she requires and then Cecelia digitally cuts, rotates and colours the bodies and limbs to create her finished images.

Dragon Flower: Various naked poses are used with stunning effect to create Cecelia's floral masterpieces

Blue Lilac: One of Miss Webber's works that on close inspection can be seen to comprise naked human bodies

Cherry Blossom: Cecelia takes a photo of naked people and uses her computer skills to create the floral finish

In a typical piece, which sells for up to £500, an arm may be the stem, a hand the seed and several legs the petals. Cecilia has created incredibly realistic blue bells, dandelions, maple leaves, sunflowers and cherry blossom, among many others. She takes up to two months photographing and editing each image. The 25-year-old said: 'I was taking a series of nude photographs and was particularly struck by one that looked a great deal like a petal. 'I wondered if I would be able to create a full flower from it and began experimenting from there.

Cecelia Webber hopes her works, such as the White Dandelion, will  encourage people to think differently about nudity and  their own bodies

'It can take a great deal of time to get the correct photograph and I often take more than 50 photos of a single pose to bring what I see in my head into reality.'

'My process is very organic and involves a great deal of experimentation.'

It is also very time-consuming, and Cecilia adds: 'An image can take up two two months to produce, though the time varies greatly depending on the complexity of the piece.

'I typically plan the poses I photograph, but I am always watching for unexpected forms that come about as a result of the process.'

Cecelia, from Los Angeles, California, added: 'Nudity is sometimes thought of as shameful thing, inspiring guilt or fear, but I hope to encourage people to think differently about their own bodies.

'I have had very good feedback across the board from people and feel very fortunate.'
