Flashmob fans ruffled feathers on one of Germany's busiest streets when thousands staged a bid to break the world record for a mass pillow fight.
The fight brought traffic to a standstill near the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin as people poured into the street to attack each other with pillows and cushions.
More than 12,000 signed up for the bash on a special Facebook page to promote it although local police estimate that around 2,000 actually took part.
Officials have not yet released the final figures, but they have to beat the current record set in Somerset in 2008 with 3,707 participants.
"Some motorists got very cross about it but there's very little you can do except smile and realise it will pass quickly," said local police officer Matthias Brandau.
