A cat called Tinka lived up to her name when she got stuck up a chimney and cost her owners £5,000 to get her back.
Tinka had been chasing birds on the roof of the family home in Munich, Germany, when she slipped and fell down the chimney.
"We could hear these unearthly howls coming from somewhere but we couldn't work out where until we saw lots of soot coming from the chimney in the kitchen," said owner Katja Bach.
Firefighters first bashed their way through the kitchen wall into the flue, only for frightened Tinka to flee further up the chimney.
A spokesman said:"We finally got her when she became stuck behind some pipes in the bathroom."
Tinka's owner Katja added: "It's cost us a kitchen and a bathroom but we think she's worth it but we might try to keep her off the roof in future."
